Introduction and brief chronology
eLearning ( or electronic learning ) is a term for all types of technology Enhanced Learning ( TEL ), where technology is used to enhance the learning process . eLearning , we all understand , is a virtual or distance learning . In this section , we will see the major milestones in the way of learning __
• 1840 - First Distance Learning . Sir Isaac Pitman taught shorthand by correspondence. She decided to start a course in e- mail by sending an email to regular missions . This happened in the UK
• 1920 - Ohio State University has developed a teaching machine . Was the first question and answer . The machine looks like a mechanical distributor . This happened in the United States.
• 1940 - World War II put in movies and media technology training . With huge new recruits WWII became the largest "facilitator" of e -learning. Because the Internet was not yet there , movies and the media have been widely used for training and motivation. United Kingdom, United States, Germany and Japan have all been used to varying degrees.
• 1970 - The computer (PC ) personal revolution led by IBM and Apple have transformed the computing landscape . This led to the adoption of e -learning at the personal and business .
• 1990 - The World Wide Web (WWW ) was the eLearning revolution to a new level . He opened a generation of learning management systems ( LMS ) . These eLearning systems adoption very friendly, flexible and interactive and open for tech-savvy users .
What can you learn from e -learning?
There is ample room for the day the e -learning and much can be learned online or through computer-based training (CBT ) . The main target groups of this new form of learning are -
• School: In high school , middle and high , we now have a wide range of digital content that teaches not only enjoyable , but very practical. In almost every issue we have ebooks and simulated / self-assessment in web -based model to test our knowledge.
• University : Now many entrance exams are based on the Web. As many prestigious colleges and universities out their online classes . The advent of video and (You Tube , Skype , etc) audio and collaboration tools were very effective eLearning .
• Continuing education: Even after leaving college or university there are now options available for postgraduate studies online. Most global organizations now have employee training systems through its intranet .

Most school fans can benefit from e -learning to complement their knowledge of topics to keep up with the latest trends and participate in questions and answers to prepare for the actual model tests . Advantages and disadvantages of e -learning
